DESCRIPTION
The Assiut Power Plant site is located in Assiut City on the Western bank of the Nile River. The proposed facilities will be constructed on a site area of approximately 78,000 square meters, which is a part of the existing Al Walideya Power Plant.
The major plant equipment is:
- One indoor condensing steam turbine generating unit, capable of delivering 670 MW at generator terminals when firing natural gas or 625 MW when firing Mazout.
- One outdoor steam generator (boiler) dual firing (natural gas or Mazout). In addition, Solar No. 2 oil will be used as a start-up/warm-up fuel.
- Necessary auxiliary equipment includes new fuel storage tanks, intake and discharge structures for plant water needs (cooling water, water treatment, etc.) , water and wastewater treatment, and a 500 kV switchyard facility.
